Recipient of the NEXT for AUTISM 2023 Color the Spectrum Autistic-Led Grant

Prescott, AZ – We are pleased to announce that we have been selected as one of the seven recipients of the NEXT for AUTISM 2023 Color the Spectrum Autistic-Led Grant. This grant was first established in 2008 with the purpose of “supporting autism programs and services nationwide.” As a recipient of this grant, Teva Community will continue to put on our spelling community retreats for our spellers and their families

2022 Annual Report

This was an exciting year with many firsts, including holding our first ever program at Teva, creating our first Advisory Boards and Committees, completed our first audit, and applying for and receiving our first grant. We continued to collect feedback from nonspeakers and families and consult with experts in many fields. Click on the image of the report to see more of what was accomplished in 2022.

Living with autism and apraxia, I dreamt of cooking to show my community how much they mean to me. My ability to speak disappeared shortly after it arrived. At age three, I was diagnosed with autism. Many years later, my family learned a more specific descriptor for my condition—minimally-speaking autism with apraxia. Apraxia means my neural and motor systems are not well-aligned, so I struggle with fine motor skills and initiating actions. (go to article)

In 2012 Jeremy Sicile-Kira had a vision that he would have an art show of the paintings he was creating in his dreams. He began to paint in real life. In 2016, “Inner Dimensions,” his first curated solo art show, was covered by national and local media resulting in a sold out show and 24 commissions.
